Freelance Content Creator & Social Media Specialist
Content and social·UK and USA
Turn product features, restaurant stories and hospitality experiences into content that works for UK and US audiences.
This is a freelance contract, not a job. Fees are agreed before each project, there is no retainer, and ongoing work depends on business needs and mutual agreement rather than being guaranteed.
The opportunity
Ordernised builds software that helps restaurants and takeaways manage online ordering and everyday operations. We are looking for an experienced freelance content creator who can take work from concept to delivery: researching ideas, preparing scripts, planning shoots, filming and editing.
Projects may include restaurant-owner interviews, product demonstrations, campaign photography, promotional videos and behind-the-scenes storytelling. You would adapt each piece to its audience and platform while keeping one consistent Ordernised identity. You need to be confident producing high-quality work on professional camera, lighting and audio equipment, both on location and in a controlled environment.
What you would create
- Short-form video for Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts.
- Professionally filmed restaurant and customer stories.
- Interviews with business owners and brand representatives.
- Product demonstrations and practical walkthroughs.
- Campaign photography and promotional video.
- LinkedIn content for hospitality decision-makers.
- Creative for paid advertising, websites and email campaigns.
What you would be doing
- Develop creative concepts around agreed campaign objectives.
- Prepare scripts, shot lists, interview questions and production schedules.
- Plan and deliver professional shoots in restaurants, offices and event spaces.
- Set up cameras, lighting and microphones to suit each location.
- Direct contributors confidently and help people feel comfortable on camera.
- Edit footage, colour-correct, mix audio and add accessible captions.
- Work with clients and internal stakeholders through agreed feedback and approval stages.
- Adapt content for UK and US audiences.
- Organise footage, project files and confidential material securely.
- Use whatever performance feedback is available to improve the next piece.
What we are looking for
- Demonstrable experience working with high-profile clients or established brands.
- A strong portfolio of professional video and social content.
- Hands-on experience with professional cameras, lenses, lighting and audio.
- Strong editing in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro or comparable software.
- Experience managing client expectations, feedback and approvals.
- Strong storytelling, interviewing and written communication.
- Confidence representing a brand professionally in client meetings and on shoots.
- The ability to organise production independently and meet agreed deadlines.
- Availability to travel for the projects you accept.
- Experience handling confidential work with discretion.
Formal qualifications are welcome, but your portfolio and your client experience matter more.
Useful, but not essential
- Restaurant, hospitality, technology or software content.
- Commercial photography and motion graphics.
- Paid social creative and campaign testing.
- Localising content for UK and US audiences.
- Working alongside PR teams, agencies and several stakeholders at once.
Confidentiality
You would sign an agreed non-disclosure agreement before seeing confidential client information, unreleased products or campaign material. Client footage, behind-the-scenes material and unpublished work can only be shared through the agreed approval process.
When you apply, send public work, or work you have permission to show. Anonymised case studies are welcome where a previous client's confidentiality still applies.
Travel and equipment
We cover travel and accommodation for agreed business trips, client visits and shoots. You need to be able to work with professional production equipment; what is needed, and whether it is supplied or hired, is agreed before each project.
How projects work
- Every project has an agreed brief, deliverables, schedule and review process.
- Fees, payment terms, revision limits and usage rights are agreed in writing before work begins.
- You take the projects your availability allows and organise your own work around the agreed shoot dates and deadlines.
- The arrangement is non-exclusive, subject to confidentiality and agreed conflict-of-interest terms.
- Future projects depend on business needs and mutual agreement. Ongoing work is not guaranteed.
